The privately owned grocery chain announced on Thursday, March 14, that the renovation of its Commerce Street ShopRite, located at 1990 W. Main St. in Stamford, is well underway.
The Commerce Street store renovation will feature a new exterior façade and interior decor enhancements, as well as completely reimagined floral, produce, prepared foods, seafood, meat, dairy, and frozen departments.
Company officials said it will also include space for a dedicated beer and craft brew section.
The store remains open during the renovation, with much of the work taking place overnight, and store managers expect to host a grand re-opening celebration early this summer.
“This remodel reflects our commitment to bring our customers a new range of quality choices combined with the personable and unmatched service we’re known for,” says Tom Cingari, Sr., president and CEO of Cingari Family ShopRite.
New features and services coming to the Commerce Street supermarket include The Grill, which will offer hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
There are also expanded offerings in the grab-and-go section, along with new take-and-bake seafood: salmon, scallops, crab cakes, and more.
The store is expanding its bread bar and donut selections, made fresh on-site daily. The bakery will also welcome a full-service, artisan cookie and chocolate counter. In addition to the expanded floral case, the floral department can now service any holiday or occasion.
“We’re focused on turning a trip to the supermarket into a fun, stress-free experience,” said Cingari. “It all comes down to providing our customers a welcoming space filled with people and services that will make buying groceries easy and enjoyable.”
The Commerce Street store renovation comes on the heels of recent Cingari Family ShopRite remodels at its neighboring Shippan Avenue location as well as its supermarkets in Shelton and Norwalk.
Cingari Family ShopRite owns 12 grocery stores in southwestern Connecticut.
